The Cumann Lúthchleas Gael is a national organisation which has as its aim the promotion of the national identity through the conservation of Irish games and pastimes. The Association’s aims include support also for the promotion of the Irish language, Irish dancing, Irish music and songs, and other aspects of Irish culture.

Through its provinces, couties and clubs, the Association seeks to sustain Irish people’s awareness of and love for their national heritage and to help foster a community spirit and through sport provides a wonderful opportunity to showcase this. The use of the Irish language in sport can be used also as a means of personal development as has been proven in many areas over the years.
